Dance auditions for ‘Away From The Mirror’ Sunday
The Dance Minor Program will hold an open audition for its spring student dance concert, “Away From The Mirror,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in the TARC 2235. The program will feature a variety of dance styles and expressions by Carthage’s own emerging choreographers.

Dancers will not need to prepare audition material ahead of time, but they should bring various shoes, including tap shoes, ballet and/or jazz slippers, and paws, if preferred, for modern and contemporary work.
Dancers should arrive early to warm up and be ready to dance by 7 p.m. Weekly rehearsals will begin the first week of spring semester. Performers should expect to rehearse approximately two hours per work each week.
In addition to weekly rehearsals, all performers are expected to attend the following:
Feedback Showings (TARC 2235)
- Sunday, Feb. 16: 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
- Sunday, March 2: 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
- Sunday, March 23: 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Technical Rehearsals (Wartburg Theatre)
- Theatre rehearsals for spacing: March 24-30
- Technical Rehearsals: March 31-April 3 (starting at 5:30 p.m.)
Performances
Performances take place Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 (dancers called at 5:30 p.m.), including post-performance discussion and post-performance strike.
All dancers, regardless of their status as a dance minor, are welcome to audition for this production!
